MATH EXHIBITION, JUNIOR WING

MATH EXHIBITION, JUNIOR WING (26 MARCH 2024)

The students of junior wing TAFS showcased their mathematical prowess through a vibrant and interactive exhibition, on 26 March 2024. The event aimed to foster love for mathematics among young learners and highlight its practical applications in everyday life. The parents and the students visited the exhibition enthusiastically.

Exhibition highlights:

Class UKG embarked on an educational journey through the creation of a rocket model, emphasizing the concept of backward counting. The endeavour aimed to instil foundational numerical understanding in the students.

In the realm of Class 1, students delved into the world of geometry by crafting various objects using both 2D and 3D shapes. This hands-on approach allowed them to grasp the fundamentals of geometric principles in a tangible way.

Class 2 explored the theme of patterns in our surroundings by curating a captivating scenery display. Through this, students not only recognized patterns but also appreciated the inherent beauty in the world around them.

The inquisitive minds of Class 3 embarked on a journey through the evolution of currency systems. From the barter system to modern digitization, students examined the transformation with the help of intricate 3D models, including currency machines, ATMs, and scanners. This immersive experience aimed to deepen their understanding of economic concepts.

Class 4 delved into the symmetry found in nature, presenting their exploration through a meticulously arranged board adorned with masks, letters, flowers, and various models. Through this visual representation, students gained insights into the harmonious balance prevalent in the natural world.

Class 5 students constructed a vibrant cube structure using an array of colourful cubes, handcrafted by them in their Math class, effectively utilizing them as building blocks. This activity not only fostered creativity but also honed their spatial awareness and engineering skills.

Each class had showcased remarkable creativity and enthusiasm, demonstrating their growing knowledge and understanding of the subjects explored. This exhibition was a resounding success captivating the visitors with its blend of creativity and mathematical exploration.

    CLASS VIII EXCURSION - VISIT TO JAIPUR

    JAIPUR TRIP- REPORT

    CLASS:VIII

    To refresh the minds and to motivate the students for the coming session, the school organized an excursion of 2 days and a night to Jaipur, for the students of class VIII from March 19, 2024- March 20, 2024. 140 students along with 14 teachers went for the excursion. It was quite a memorable experience for students and teachers alike. The journey began early at 6.00 am in the morning on March 19, 2024 with a stopover in between for breakfast. On the way to the hotel, the students also visited Amer Fort, rich in culture and history, and they were provided with a lot of significant information about this architectural beauty. After this, the students were taken to the hotel where they were served a sumptuous lunch and given some time to relax.

    Thereafter, the students were taken to Birla Temple and Chokhi Dhani in the evening. These visits brought the children closer to the traditions, cuisine, culture of Rajasthan and they were able to experience it first-hand. The students participated in various activities at Chokhi Dhani and were served with signature Rajasthani cuisine.

    The next day, i.e. March 20, 2024, students were served with breakfast in the morning, thereafter, they left the hotel for local sightseeing and shopping. The students visited City Palace, Jantar Mantar and Hawa Mahal (from outside). They learnt many things and received a lot of information about these historical monuments. After this the students visited the local market and went on a shopping spree!!!

    After the tiring shopping session, students were brought back to the hotel to have their lunch before beginning the journey back to Delhi.

    All in all, it was a trip of a lifetime for the students and they enjoyed themselves to the fullest. Both students and parents were quite appreciative of all the arrangements and the whole experience.

      CLASS VI EXCURSION- VISIT TO AGRA-FATEHPUR SIKRI

      CLASS VI EXCURSION- VISIT TO AGRA-FATEHPUR SIKRI

      “Experience is the key to learning; without it, it’s impossible to gain perspective”

      The Air Force School, Subroto Park organized an excursion for class VI to Agra-Fatehpur Sikri on 19th and 20th March 2024. A total of 105 students were accompanied by 8 teachers.

      The Journey commenced in the early hours of 19th March 2024. Children were settled in the bus enjoying the beauty of the nature and singing their favourite songs. Afterwards, all the students were allocated the rooms in the Hotel Clarks Inn.

      Day 1 Commenced with journey to Fatehpur Sikri witnessing the iconic Buland Darwaja, Asia’s longest door monument. Children were mesmerized by the stunning architecture. The evening was followed by the most awaited DJ night where the Tafsians showed their dancing skills on the stage.

      Day 2 started with the visit to one of the eight wonders of the world, the iconic Taj Mahal. Children saw the beautiful monument and appreciated its beauty. The Journey back to Delhi began in the evening. Children were happy and enjoyed. Additionally, the trip fostered a sense of curiosity and appreciation for our country's rich history and heritage.

      In conclusion, our excursion trip was not just a journey, but an enriching experience filled with memorable moments and valuable insights. As we return home, let us carry with us the memories of camaraderie, adventure, and learning that will continue to inspire us in our future endeavors.

        ORIENTATION PROGRAMME - CLASS X

        An orientation programme was organized for class X students who have appeared in board examinations this year and are going to select the streams (combination of subjects) in class XI. The goal was to help the students in deciding their career prospects. Parents were also invited so that they could help their ward in taking an informed decision.

        The programme started with a presentation from Mr Sujeet Chhikara who explained about different streams being offered in TAFS and their eligibility criteria.

        Mr Jitin Chawla was the key speaker of the event. He is an alumnus of Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi and has assisted lakhs of students in their career path. His commitment is to ensure that every student receives the support they need to confidently navigate their future and has been guiding students as career counselor since 2000.

        In the session he shared about different career options available for students across different streams within India. He emphasised upon the need to discover oneself and to self reflect.

        To begin with various unconventional careers booming in the present times were highlighted such as certified fraud examiner, design computational linguistics, digital marketing etc.

        The information on various courses available within India and abroad offering free education such as in Germany, Switzerland, Mexico, Iceland, Norway, Finland and Netherlands was also given.

        The session was engaging and informative. The programme was culminated with question answer hour in which parents as well as students could clear their queries on various options.

          ADVENTURE CAMPS - JUNIOR WING

          (15 March,24- 20 March,24)

          Junior Wing TAFS organized adventure camps for students of all their classes beginning from UKG to class V.These camps provide holistic education, providing students with opportunities for exploration, discovery, and personal development in a safe and nurturing environment.

          Class V-Overnight Camp ( 15-16 March,2024)

          An exhilarating day adventure combined with an overnight camp was meticulously organised for the enthusiastic Class V students on the 15th and 16th of March 2024, within the premises of our school. With an impressive turnout of 177 eager participants, the event promised an array of exciting activities and experiences.

          Upon arrival at the school on the morning of 15th March, the children, brimming with anticipation, were relieved of any exam anxieties and pressures. They eagerly settled into their assigned rooms and were promptly grouped under unique call names by camp instructors, fostering camaraderie and team spirit throughout the event.

          The day commenced with a series of exhilarating activities  like Commando Crawl,Mowgli Walk,Commando Net Climbing,Triple Rope Bridge,Monkey Crawl,Burma Bridge,Ladder Climbing,Rope Climbing+Tarzan Swing,Double Rope bridge,Flying Fox,Slackline,Zorb Roller,Hamster Wheel,Tent pitching information,Spider Web,Tug of War

          .All designed to challenge and engage the students' physical and mental faculties. Periodic breaks for nutritious meals ensured sustained energy levels, allowing the students to fully immerse themselves in the activities.

          A highlight of the day was a captivating magic show, providing much-needed respite and entertainment between activities.The evening transformed into a festive affair, with a lively party featuring music by a DJ. A delectable dinner further heightened the festive atmosphere, followed by cozy chats and bonding sessions amongst the students in their allotted rooms.

          As the event drew to a close, the children were awarded for their adventurous spirit and participation, with special recognition given for the best-kept room.

          Classes III & IV (18 March,2024)

          The day adventure camp commenced with the enthusiastic arrival of  254 students of Grade 3 and 4, on the morning of 18 March. Excitement filled the air as students eagerly anticipated the day's activities. They were taken to the Eco Adventure Camp,Najafgarh in buses.

          The camp organisers had meticulously planned a diverse range of activities to cater to the interests and abilities of all participants.Interspersed with sumptuous meals,the students enjoyed many adventure activities such as  Zip Line,⁠ Wall Climbing, ⁠Burma Bridge, ⁠Balancing Beam,⁠Long Tunnel Crossing,⁠Commando Net, ⁠Channel Bridge, Zorb Roller, ⁠Trampoline ,⁠Camel Cart,Bullock Cart ,⁠Tractor Ride ,⁠Charkha,⁠Potter’s Wheel ,⁠Magic Show and ⁠DJ Dance.

          As the day came to a close, students  boarded the buses and returned to school with smiles on their faces, filled with excitement and stories to share with their classmates and families.

          Classes UKG, I & II (19 march,24 -20 March,24)

          The adventure camp for 48 students of  Kindergarten,110 students of Grade 1, and  101 students of Grade 2  was organised on the school premises.It turned out to be a resounding success, providing young learners with a day filled with fun, learning, and exploration. Through a diverse range of activities and experiences, students developed physical, social, and creative skills while fostering a sense of curiosity and wonder about the world around them.

          An adventure area equipped with Burma Bridge, Commando Net, Hopscotch, Wall Climbing, Hop Ball, Trampoline, Tyre Tower, Double Rope Bridge, Magical Maze, Zorb Roller, Balance Beam, Tug of War, Running Bungee, Commando Crawl, Laser Beam,  and Zip Line, provided students with opportunities for structured play and social interaction.The day ended with a mesmerising magic show which the children enjoyed thoroughly.

          The students were provided with nutritious snack boxes to keep them charged and going through the day.Safety protocols were strictly adhered to throughout the camp, with trained staff and volunteers supervising all activities.It was a memorable and enriching experience for all participants.

            UKG Parents' Day

            UKG Parents' Day (06 March 2024)

            Class UKG presented a stupendous cultural programme for their parents on the occasion of UKG Parents' Day celebration on 06 March 2024, at school. Wing Commander Manoj Kumar Yadav, ED TAFS, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Ms Deepa Radhakrishnan, the Headmistress, in her welcome address, emphasized on how important it is for parents to communicate with their children constantly and spend time with them.

            The Aravali Hall was once again filled with joy and enthusiasm as the children presented their annual cultural bonanza, this time focusing on the theme of "Healthy Choices, Happy Kids." The event aimed to educate and entertain the audience while emphasizing the importance of nutritious food selections for children.

            The show saw the participation of all students of class UKG. Dressed in bright colourful costumes they danced merrily to numerous peppy tracks like “Such  a beautiful day”, “Fruits and vegetables”, “Hamster dance ” etc. The gay abundance with which they performed on the stage enthralled the audience.

            The young children through their entertaining acts addressed a pressing issue affecting society – the importance of maintaining a balanced diet and steering clear of unhealthy eating habits. By showcasing the benefits of fruits, vegetables, and grains, the children highlighted the positive impact of consuming nutritious foods on overall well-being.

            In a heart warming finale, the students took an oath to prioritize healthy eating habits, promising to limit their consumption of junk food and opt for wholesome alternatives. This pledge symbolized their commitment to leading a healthy lifestyle and fostering positive habits from a young age.

            Wing Commander Manoj Yadav, ED TAFS, commended the students for their engaging performance. He urged the parents to encourage their  children to ask questions and help them keep up their curiosity and simple minded innocence. Mrs. Lomina Rajiv, the Vice principal and the guest of honour at the event, extended her congratulations to the kindergarteners and teachers for putting up a remarkable show.
