Invitation for Witnessing Full Dress Rehearsal of Air Force Day Parade 2015

 INVITATION FOR WITNESSING FULL DRESS REHEARSAL

OF AIR FORCE DAY PARADE 2015 : 06 OCT 2015 (TUESDAY)

Classes: VI, VII & VIII ONLY

Dear Parents,

1.     Full Dress Rehearsal of Air Force Day Parade-2015 will be held at Air Force Station, Hindan at 0630 hrs on 06 Oct 2015.  100 students from TAFS have been invited to witness this spectacular event 

   ·         You may send your ward to witness  the full Dress Rehearsal

·         It is on first come first serve basis as there are only limited seats

·         Last Date for Submission of Consent Forms is 03  Sept ’15 Thursday, to either Mr KPS Dhillon or Mr CB Sangwan, in the sports room

·         The list of selected students will be uploaded on the school website (www.tafssp.com) on 08  Sep 2015 & an SMS will be sent to the students those who are witnessing the parade

·         In case your child’s name is on the list then please ensure that your ward is properly dressed in  school uniform on the day of the event (summer uniform with the school I card)

·         The students will be accompanied by school teachers.   The function will be over at 1030 hrs and light refreshment will be provided by Air Force Station, Hindan, Ghaziabad. 

2.     The students will leave from Air Force Station, Hindan around 1030 hrs on 06 Oct 15 and will be reaching the school around 1200 hrs. They will then come back home as per regular school timings, regular school buses.

3.     Confirmed students  are to report to  school by 0500 hrs on O6 October –Tuesday  as the bus will leave from the school campus at 0515 hrs on 06 Oct 15.

     Dear Parent

     

    1.   We in TAFS always looking for ways to bring improvement in the academic performance of students. We felt a strong need to develop some learning material which is easily understandable and capable of bringing improvement in academic performance of students. We have decided to prepare Minimum Learning Module (MLM). These modules will contain simplified definitions along with examples and solved important questions

     

    2.  Please note that the main objective of introducing MLM is to simplify teaching – learning process and help students to understand the topics well which will help them in scoring good marks. Following points have been kept in mind while developing MLM:

    Ø  Have been prepared according to the needs of the students.

    Ø  Are well structured and logical

    Ø  Include flow charts & diagrams to explain the topics.

    Ø  Contains all important points / formulas, examples and important questions (solved & unsolved).

    Ø  Are easy to understand.

    Ø  Are easy to comprehend.

    Please understand that preparing this kind of material was very challenging and daunting task that require complete dedication, team spirit and hard work. But we have completed this task and now the material has gone for printing. Study material of all subjects will be combined and given to students in the form of a book. The approximate cost of each book will be Rs 150/-. The same will be charged along with next quarter school fee.

    We are sure that our efforts will bring improvement in the academic performance of students.

      Circular: Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana

      Dear Parents

       "Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana" (KVPY) is a program started by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India to encourage students to take up research careers in Science.

      Students of standard XI  and XII (Science Subjects) who have secured a minimum of 80% (70% for SC/ST) marks in aggregate in MATHEMATICS and SCIENCE subjects in the X Standard are eligible to apply (CGPA can be converted in to appropriate  percentage). 

      Scholarship of approximately 60,000 per year up to pre Ph.D. is awarded to the students clearing KVPY.

      Each KVPY Fellow will be issued with an Identity card so as to have access to renowned National laboratories/ Universities.

      Summer programmes are also organized for the KVPY fellows at Indian Institute for Science Education and Research (IISER) - Kolkata, Pune, Mohali, Bhopal, and Trivandrum where they spend one or two weeks and got a chance to interact with scientists, watch them at work, see things in a research environment, listen to lectures by experts of different fields, exchange views and interact with other research students.

      There is a participation fees of rupees 1000/- for this exam.

      There is no prescribed syllabus for the written test. The written test aims to test the understanding and analytical ability of the student than his/her factual knowledge. However, students are tested for the syllabus up to class XII.

      After scrutiny of applications forms, based on the performance in the Board Examination, all the eligible students will be called for a online aptitude test at different centers across the country on Sunday, the 1st November, 2015. The details of the venue of the aptitude test for the eligible students and their seat number will be published in the KVPY website during the first week of October 2015.

      Those interested should get their mark sheet attested from the school and apply online latest by 30th August.

        The First Stage examination of all Olympiads will be conducted in the school premises during school hours. The registration fee/exam fee for EACH Olympiad is Rs 120 per student. If your child is interested in taking part, please send the consent form along with cheque separately for each Olympiad in the name of “The Air Force School” to the class teacher latest by 21st August 2015(Friday). The cheque is to be enclosed in a sealed envelope along with consent form. Please write the following details on the back of the cheque: 

        1.   Name of the Olympiad

        2.   Admission Number

        3.   Student’s Name

        4.   Student’s Class & Section 

        SOF is providing workbooks for each Olympiad at a cost of Rs 60/- (each book) for preparation of these Olympiads. If interested, kindly add Rs 60/- per book to the registration fee cheque. 

        If your child is appearing in the NCO, NSO & IMO it is advisable to get a combined workbook at a cost Rs 120/- (Reasoning essentials book (Cyber, Science and Math)) and add this amount to registration fee cheque of any one Olympiad only. Purchase of workbooks is not mandatory. 

        Medals will be awarded to toppers & participation certificate along with Performance Analysis Report will be provided to every student. 

        Participation in these Olympiads is not compulsory.

          Circular: Mrs Satya Mehra Memorial Scholarship

          CIRCULAR TO PARENTS

          MRS SATYA MEHRA MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP 

          Dear Parents,             

          1.         Air Force Association, AF Station, Race Course, New Delhi  has invited application for Mrs. Satya Mehta Memorial Scholarship for five scholarship each of Rs. 5,000/- per annum instituted for wards of serving air warrior studying in classes V to VIII in Air Force Schools and Kendriya Vidyalayas.  These scholarships will be processed, screened and approved by Air Force Association, New Delhi. The last date for receipt of applications is 10 Oct 2015 for onward submission to School Management Office for needful.   Application format is annexed for students.

           

          2.         Parents are requested to encourage your ward to participate in the said scholarship.  Applications duly filled up are to be submitted to the Middle School Coordinator, Mrs. Lomina Rajiv, PGT through Class Teachers.

            SPELL VOCAB CHALLENGER ACTIVITY – 2015-2016

            CIRCULAR TO PARENTS

            Dear Parents,

            1.         We have received the invitation for participation in Spell-Vocab Challenger.  The event is organized by ‘SVC Guild’.  Our School participates in this event every year.  The details are as given below:-

            ·                  Event: Spell Vocab Challenger

            ·                  Preliminary round will be held in the school

            ·                  Preliminary round will be followed by the Zonal round and thereafter the final round for the students who qualify the preliminary round. The date and venue for these two rounds will be decided by the organizers.

            ·                  The competition aims at testing the spelling and vocabulary skills through various interesting questions.

            ·                  Participation certificates will be given to each participant apart from prizes and merit certificates for winners.

            2.       Duly filled up consent form should be submitted to the respective English Teachers by 25 August 2015 positively.
