        OPTICAL ILLUSION ART

The last day of CCE Activity culminated with a unique activity of creating optical illusion using two separate pictures.

Students had to use and draw two objects in a manner that they create an optical illusion. Visually, the students had to make a picture which is open to be interpreted as two objects.

Examples were shown to the students, and they created pictures like two vases that represent a face when drawn together, a butterfly that also looks like a skeleton when turned upside down.

They used their cognitive and creative ability at once, making it an activity that invokes imagination of the child.

With the advent of new and creative activities, the CCE art for the day was “Text Art” which implies, creating new figures / designs and shapes using numericals or alphabets.

Text art is a new concept, where students would visualize a shape and mouldit, according to any number, alphabet, word or shape.

These text arts use a student’s creativity, imagination and ability to think “out-of-the box”. The studetns had to utilize all their thinking abilities in making a novel shape / object or design with existing or new terms.

Many created the Paris attack peace symbol, others re-created daily sights like animals, houses, maps countries etc.

Their words represented what they feel about these objects and how students interpret a topic with words. It was an expressive activity, that involved imagination and creative thinking to engage students.

CCE Activity – “Anti Cracker Activity”

With the festival of lights approaching us, in a few days, a serious concern of not bursting crackers has to be addressed.

TAFS took the initiative to make students aware of the ill effects and widespread damage of crackers.

A pollution – free Diwali and Swachh Bharat is an aim, that we all should embrace. Keeping this in mind, today the students had to prepare various posters / slogans / poems and songs on anti-crackers. These were based on social videos shown to them. Students drew images of pollution, its effects and how a cracker free Diwali would make the world appear beautiful and clean.

Poems were written with thought provoking ideas against pollution and damage. Students penned down songs to show their solidarity with keeping the festival pollution free. The aim was awareness and it did spread across all ages.

Some drew geometric patterns, a few drew floral patterns, whereas some painted a starry sky on Rangoli’s bringing the sky to our grounds.

The decked up Rangoli’s were easy to make and looked radiant when placed on floors.

It was an activity that lifted the Diwali moments and made students aware of eco-friendly ways to make houses look pretty.

The creative CCE Activity today, was to create a “Story/Comic strip”.

The idea of a comic strip was to engage a child’s imagination and allow students to use language and expressions. Students could add events, create cartoon characters, themes, incidents, and various themes to their storyline.

Many students drew their favourite cartoons and even re-created popular cartoon shows with their own ideas of events.

This activity saw enormousdiscussion, meeting of students in a group to share thoughts and brainstorming by each child to contribute. In the end, we saw a creative display of various fictional and known characters come alive in story format.

It was a fun and imaginative activity that made students use their minds with language creativity.
