When I started counting my blessings, my whole life turned around.’

On Saturday the 29th of October 2022 an English Oration Competition was organized for the students of Class IV. The theme was “Attitude of Gratitude”. Gratitude is a beautiful way of enriching our lives. It has been proven scientifically that when we express our gratefulness to other people, we feel happier and calmer.

Competitions such as these help the students to build their public speaking skills and gain self-confidence. There were twenty-four students in the final round and each student presented their views on this topic in their own unique way- with some being thankful for their family and friends and some for their health. The narrations were straight from the heart and created an aura of calm even within the venue. Just goes to show, how powerful a feeling, gratitude is. The audience soaked in all the wise words of the participations in rapt attention.

                      INVESTITURE CEREMONY 2022-23

                      INVESTITURE CEREMONY 2022-23

The Air Force School observed the Investiture Ceremony on 30 September 2022, for the academic year 2022-2023, investing the young leaders with various portfolios and responsibilities.

Investing the students with powers and responsibilities during their academic tenure enables them to take a stand for the right and to understand their responsibilities and duties before their rights.

Welcoming the guests, as the young appointees embarked on the new journey of leadership in their student life, the Principal, Ms Amita Gupta said that this day marks a student leader’s initiation into shouldering responsibilities with humility and sincerity. Ma’am further said that one should always be prepared, be kind to self and to others, say polite words, show actions of humility and compassion and do things which impact lives positively.

Appreciating the cultural display of talent, the Chief Guest, Air Commodore BS Hora, Air Commodore Education and Chairman Managing Committee, Air Force Schools, told the new student council that the investiture marked a major milestone, both in their learning journey in the school as well as in their personal development as future leaders of our country. He said that their investiture as student leaders is a testament to the confidence that the school has in their leadership capability.

Sir spoke about the acronym FAR, which represented the three key insights; which are to have fortitude, to be ardent and to be relentless. These can help the young leaders go as far as possible in their leadership journey.

The cultural extravaganza that marked this important day in the history of TAFS included the group song, Abhyudaya and the group dance, Abhibhava. Earlier the ceremony started with the lighting of the lamp and chanting of the shlokas invoking the blessings of the almighty.

The Vice Principal, Ms Lomina Rajiv, congratulated the appointees wishing them luck and success.

The ceremony ended with all rising to the tune of the Air Force Schools Song.
