KHEL UTSAV 2024: CHAMPIONS IN MOTION
TAFS’s Annual Athletic Meet spanning two full days on 11 December 2024 and 12 December 2024, encompassed a diverse range of track and field events. The championship showcased the extraordinary talents of students from five competing houses: Subroto, Arjan, Katre, Pratap, and Latif. It featured competitions across three age categories- Sub-Junior, Junior, and Senior-including dynamic events such as 100m sprints, 200m races, 400m relays, shot put, and long jump.
Graced by the presence of the Principal Ms. Lomina Rajiv and Vice Principal Ms. Manju Malhotra, the event transcended mere competition. The two-day athletic meet served as a prelude to the Sports Day, building anticipation and momentum for the final celebration of sporting achievement. The spirit demonstrated during these days highlighted the transformative power of sports in nurturing leadership, discipline, and collective achievement.
The Sports Day or Khel Utsav was held on 13 December 2024. The mega event was held to acknowledge and honour the achievements of the year-round sporting events. The Chief Guest for the event was Wing Commander Alka Chaudhary, Executive Director, TAFS.
The event commenced with the welcome dance by the Junior School, titled, “Discovering Wisdom, Attaining Knowledge”.
The group song, ‘Tu Chala Chal’ and the school choir titled ‘Kadam Se Kadam Mila Chal’,set the stage and the momentum for the Yoga dance presented by the junior school. The captivating Yoga Fusion Dance, an exquisite blend of movement, mindfulness, and tradition effortlessly echoed the message that yoga is fun.
The highlight of the day, the prize distribution and the sports report for the year 2024-25, put the sports men of TAFS on a pedestal with the proud parents watching and reveling in the achievements of their wards.
In the welcome address, Ms. Lomina Rajiv, Principal, TAFS, said that life, much like sports, is a series of challenges that test our mettle, teamwork, and resilience. Sports are not just about competition or winning medals; they are about the growth of character, the strength to face adversity, and the grace to celebrate others’ victories.
The Chief Guest, in her address thanked everyone for the voluminous effort behind the celebration of victory on the field. Ma’am praised the footballers, athletes and other champions saying that sports should be a way of life,
The meet was declared closed and the flag of TAFS handed over for safekeeping till the next year would come round with its own history and tale of success to be narrated.
The event came to a glorious end with the Vote of thanks and National Anthem.
